Storyline of Medical event in rural area

In Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences, in the year 2014, an organization called Medical Undergraduates Society (MUGS) was established to represent all medical pregraduates of CUCMS. The aims of the society is to bring together all medical students of the university to enhance and gain new skills in order to become a holistic healthcare professional. It is a tradition every year for the society to organise a CSR event that focuses on providing basic healthcare services to the needy. Specifically for this programme, our target and focus is to reach people in rural areas and to provide services such as medical check-up, a circumcision event and home medical reviews (home visits). This programme will be achived in collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak’s (UNIMAS) medical society. This programme also aims to strengthen the bond between CUCMS medical students and to enhance social skills with the community.

Purpose of the event

This program is organized mainly to:
1. To improve health status and initiate health awareness to the rural community by
providing free circumcision, medical check-up and other health services.
2. To create a long-term bond between CUCMS and UNIMAS medical students for
upcoming various community programme.
3. To create and strengthen the relationship between CUCMS medical students and
community.
4. To practice and further enhance circumcision, medical check-up and medical
communication skills and techniques for the medical students

We hope that this program could improve health for those who are less fortunate, especially those who are in rural areas. In addition, we hope that this program can foster better relationships between CUCMS students and the local community as well as enhance the skills of CUCMS students in community services, for instance circumcision. Through this activity, we hope that students can improve their communication skills to be friendlier to the community as a measure of exposure in the future. In conclusion, participants should prepare themselves with self-motivation, skills and strong fellowship with each other. Hence, we hope that we can achieve our objective through this program and this proposal will be approved.

Budget plan

We aim to raise funds amount RM5000,

1) Cost inclusive for one circumcision patient (RM 100 X 40 people) = RM 4000

2) Medical checkup for one patient (RM 5 X 200 people) = RM 1000

With your contribution, we'll able to give medical needs to the people in need in Sarawak. Your generosity and support is an encouraging reminder of why we started this campaign.

One of the risks in making this project is about the distance of the targeted people is too far from us so we need to bought flight tickets that cost mostly 300 ringgit to sarawak for the whole team because we need at least 50 people in making this project a success. ts because were making activities such as circumcision , medical check up and home medical review that need need many man power. But our team were so dedicated to it and we believed that this project will become a success fo us!
